Compact mobility. TS 254 M New mobile table saw from Metabo

  • Compact and powerful on construction sites and for assembly jobs
  • Durable thanks to overload protection and soft start
  • Easy handling for greatest comfort while working

Nürtingen, April 2020: The M in the new TS 254 M table saw from Metabo stands for mobility. However, being mobile with a table saw, does this go together? "Yes", says product manager Leonard Sautter, "since the TS 254 M is compact and can be carried with one or two hands using the inbuilt handles. This makes it ideal for sawing applications on the construction site and for mounting applications." The new table saw is compact, yet powerful. "And it has everything what a good table saw needs. All parts can be stored directly on the device and are thus always within reach", says Sautter. The robust frame ensures stability and with the adjustable foot the TS 254 M has a level stand also on uneven ground. The cutting height can be adjusted infinitely.

Safety and precision

With the new table saw, overload protection and soft start protect the motor and gears. This provides the TS 254 M with a particularly long service life. "At Metabo, we mainly focus on user safety. Therefore we have equipped the TS 254 M with many safety-relevant functions", says Sautter. The fast brake stops the saw blade within three seconds when the machine is switched off. The restart protection prevents unintentional starting of the machine, for example after a power cut. "With a saw blade diameter of 254 millimetres, the TS 254 M has a solid cutting height of the different daily jobs in woodworking and especially in interior development", explains Sautter. "With the TS 254 M mitre cuts, longitudinal cuts and rip cuts can be made. The riving knife, which can be lowered without tools, also allows for rebate cutting and the riving knife can be lowered under the table during transit.." The saw blade can be changed quickly and easily thanks to a spindle lock.

Precise working

The user can set the tilt of the saw blade precisely, and the machine permits undercuts in a range from plus and minus 1.5 degrees. To prevent slanted cuts, the spring-mounted reset mechanism resets the tilt angle to zero to 45 degrees. The parallel guide/rip fence of the TS 254 M has a maximum distance to the saw blade of 520 millimetres, and thanks to the double clamping and fast fixture it always remains firmly in the same position. An additional fine setting permits working down to the millimetre. Whether parallel or angled cut: Thanks to the integrated table width extension and table length extension, even large workpieces are supported safely.

The standard scope of delivery of the TS 254 M includes a 40-teeth Metabo carbide saw blade, a parallel guide/rip fence, a mitre fence, a table length extension and table width extension as well as a push stick. The folding TSU stand is available separately and installed easily with only four quick screw connections. In the middle of 2020, Metabo will be introducing to the market a sliding table for a particularly precise guidance.
