Sleek power packs: The new brushless 18 volt cordless sabre saws from Metabo
Nürtingen, February 2020: Whether working in tight spaces or powerful cuts in hard materials - Metabo offers new 18 volt cordless sabre saws for both. When working in particularly hard-to-reach spaces, the small SSE 18 LTX BL Compact is the right choice. The versatile saw convinces with its compact design and its brushless motor. The SSE 18 LTX BL offers even more sawing performance. With a stroke length of 32 millimetres and its brushless motor, the saw scores with power and endurance. "Both saws are very powerful and at the same time real lightweights. This is ensured, among others, by its brushless motor", explains product manager Leonard Sautter. "Compared to models with brush motors, users work now even faster with the new 18 volt models and manage more cuts per battery pack charge", says Sautter.
A cut above
Comfortable sawing in confined spaces - this is particularly easy with with the SSE 18 LTX BL Compact. Whether cuts in metal pipes or squared timber, the saw is characterised mainly by its versatility: Thanks to its compact shape, users can work in a controlled manner in any position, use the device comfortably for different sawing jobs and also operate it with one hand. The SSE 18 LTX BLalso stands for excellent ergonomics: Thanks to an angled handle with softgrip, the saw can be guided safely and comfortably in the different working positions. Another plug point: The locking function at the speed control trigger ensures comfortable working in continuous mode. Also in terms of performance, the SSE 18 LTX BL literally cuts a good figure: "Whether demanding demolition jobs such as the removal of old beams or fast cuts in wood, metal, porous concrete or plastic - the saw impresses with power and endurane", says product manager Sautter. The gear housing of the SSE 18 LTX BL is made of hard-wearing die-cast aluminium that withstands even extreme load on the construction site or in the workshop. Additionally, the gear is protected against dust and water splashes. "If the craftsman, for example, saws through sewage pipes, the special seal rings keep back moisture and dirt", explains Sautter.
Fast change, fast cut
The saw bladechange is particularly easy with the tool-free Metabo quick system. The user can also rotate the saw blade by 180 degrees. The two new products also impress with their tool-free adjustable depth guide, which permits precise setting of the sawing depth. Thanks to this, craftsmen can utilise the saw blades in an optimal manner and perform easy, quick plunge cuts. "For example, if the user saws into a gypsum plaster board behind which there are pipes, he can precisely set the cutting depth in order to avoid damage to the material", explains Sautter.
An additional plus point: For the SSE 18 LTX BL Compact, the sabre saw blade can be replaced with a jigsaw blade. "This permits even more flexible applications", explains Sautter. For the different applications there is a wide selection of different saw blades. With the new Metabo carbide sabre saw blades, for example, even cuts in very hard materials are easily made. An LED worklight that ideally illuminates the cutting line brings light into darkness. This permits safe working for craftsmen even in dark areas.
